Bryan Mejia, Level 2
Ask Bryan what his goal is as stylist at Studio A Salon and he’ll reply that he specializes in “making you look really good.” He calls himself a jack of all hair-trades who loves doing a good balayage - a technique of free-hand painting highlights onto the hair that creates a sun-kissed effect.
He graduated from cosmetology school and found Studio A Salon. The rest is history. But what you might not know is that Bryan completely changed careers! The fourth degree black belt who spent 16 years in karate, now creates hair perfection for his clients under the leadership of Studio A Salon.
That kind of discipline is what he said he uses in his new craft as a stylist. The moment he decided he would go to beauty school began when Bryan took a trip to Washington state to see his friend, also a stylist.
“Going back in the salon even though I didn’t have hair, I felt really good walking out,” he said.
That moment stuck with him.
“I really want to make people feel good about themselves. I want to give people self-confidence and feel good.”
He knew he wanted to be a stylist. He was determined, and made the transition. The learning process continues for Mejia.
“It feels really good,” he said. “I get more pumped up for the future.”
As for the future, his motivation is to be a great stylist.
“I want to continue my growth and continue honing my craft”
